Infection Prevention and Control for all
To promote, encourage, advocate and advise on infection Prevention and Control (IPC) issues for the benefit of the community as a whole
Background
Background
The Infection Prevention and Control Association of Zimbabwe was launched in 1993 following a series of meetings covering infection prevention and control topics in Masvingo, Mutare, Bulawayo and Gweru. The final launch took place in Harare where the Association was launched by the then Minister of Health and Child Welfare, Dr Timothy Stamps. The association provided a platform for tackling Infection Preventions and Control (IPC) practices and emerging trends to the wider community of IPC practitioners. 2011 presented an opportunity for the formation of a consortium between the Association, Biomedical Research and Training Institute and Management Sciences for Health, to support the Ministry of Health and Child Care to strengthen the National IPC program through the implementation of the Zimbabwe Infection Prevention and Control Project. The Association continues to support the implementation of the IPC program in Zimbabwe
