The Training of Trainers Course in IPC is a 7-week course which starts off with 5-day didactic sessions followed by a 6-week period of attachments at a health care facility. The candidates are assigned practical tasks and are also required to develop their own training material which they then use to train other healthcare workers. The course ends with assessment of the trained healthcare workers to determine the knowledge transfer of the IPC Trainer and the content and quality of materials produced. The course aims to impart teaching skills at all levels of health professionals, evaluation of IPC training programmes and effective communication. Candidates eligible for enrolment are those that would have undergone the 5-day Basic IPC Course.
