The Infection Control Association of Zimbabwe Trust (ICAZ-T), is a not-for-profit organisation formally registered under registration number MA/0765/2014. It is a member driven, which works with various partners in the Zimbabwe health care system, including the Ministry of Health & Child Care. The Association’s operations are overseen by a team of volunteer National Executive Committee members who assume responsibility through the voting process. ICAZ-T works to improve infection prevention and control practices in health care facilities nationwide to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases among patients, staff and visitors.   • Organizing training programmes (conferences, workshops, lectures) to improve the quality of infection prevention and control in all disciplines.
  • Provision of a platform to discuss and disseminate pertinent IPC information to all concerned.
  • Advocacy for commemoration of health-related days
  • Promotion of effective infection prevention and control policies in line with National Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines, Policy and Strategic Plan in all health care institutions
  • Establish and maintain links with other infection control associations regionally and internationally.
  • Encourage research into infection prevention and control and provide a forum for the presentation of results from such programmes.
  • Curriculum development, training and development of IEC materials
  • Provision and adaptation of Infection Prevention and Control monitoring tools that have been used internationally for local use.
